Mainland China Tourist Abuses Zus Coffee Barista In Viral Video Or Is It The Other Way Around

WHAT’S the worst that could happen to a barista in a coffee chain shop? It’s not like it is the most hazardous job in the world such as being a miner or a deep sea welder, for example.
That is until you meet a tough-to-deal-with Mainland China tourist who believes they own heaven and earth.
In a video post by netizen @bckupacc99, a barista from ZUS Coffee was seen to be abused by a customer with a heavy Mainland China ascent. She was heard telling the lady to leave but the lady went on in rapid fire mandarin before slapping her coffee at her and spilling the contents all over the table.

Netizens of course were up in condemnation over the hot-headed customer who might have hailed from Yunnan where the hot pot cuisine originated. That is a joke.
“That is why now we can’t say the customer is always right. The customer doesn’t have the cash but they behave like they do,” said @Azroy8587. Another netizen pointed out how easily such things can be solved if they talked to each other easily but they simply wanted to viral it.

Then there was the voice of reason in the form of @9773Lol, stating that the video should be observed from the beginning.

Replying to him was @unicornsistic who said her Mainland Chinese dialect was enough to put her in the wrong.
On an unrelated note, China’s social credit system is a national data-driven program that tracks and scores the trustworthiness of individuals, businesses, and government institutions to encourage good behavior.
It uses big data from financial, online, and surveillance sources to assign scores that can affect access to services like loans, travel, and schools, with penalties like being placed on a government blacklist for bad scores.
The system was initially created to improve trust in the economy, but has expanded to cover social and ethical behavior as well. Watching this video, we sure hope the social credit system can stretch beyond the shores of China. — Focus Malaysia
