Kpj Lablink Cooperate With Probe On Forged Covid 19 Screening Slips

KPJ Healthcare Bhd (KPJ) and the group's pathology laboratory arm, Lablink (M) Sdn Bhd, said they were working together with authorities probing a syndicate which sold forged Covid-19 screening test slips.
This came after KPJ said it was made aware of reports where counterfeit or falsified Covid-19 result slips with forged Lablink letterheads were used to attempt cross-border travels, which were subsequently discovered by authorities.
"KPJ and Lablink would like to reaffirm that these were fraudulent and falsified documents and internal investigations confirm that all these documents were not issued by Lablink.
"KPJ and Lablink view this matter very seriously and are working with the authorities to facilitate their investigations," said the group in a statement today.
"All Lablink Covid-19 tests are carried out in a systematic, organised and ethical manner and results are transmitted securely and confidentially to patients and customers based on established and clear protocols," it added.
The forged screening test slips purportedly issued by KPJ Hospital, Lablink or BP Healthcare were reportedly sold for up to RM300 to foreigners who wished to return home but feared a positive result.

Bernama yesterday reported that the discovery of forged Lablink test slips followed the arrest of two foreigners on Jan 20 after they provided dubious Covid-19 screening test results at KLIA's registration counter.
The arrests of the two men aged 28 and 37 subsequently crippled the syndicate that targeted their fellow countrymen since the start of its operations last August.
KLIA police chief Imran Abdul Rahman reportedly said police also arrested another syndicate member in Taman Tampoi Indah, Johor Baru, which led to the detention of their mastermind, a 27-year-old based in Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur. - Mkini
