Covid 19 New Record High For Infections With 4 275 New Cases Of Covid 19 And 4 313 Patients Being Discharged


 


COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 4,275 new cases of Covid-19 as of noon today, a new record high.

It also reported a new record for recoveries with 4,313 patients being discharged.
This led to the first decrease in active cases in over 15 days.

Leading indicators:
Active cases: 42,769 ↓ (45 less than the previous day)

Patients in ICU: 260 ↑ (9 more than the previous day)

Intubated patients: 103 ↑ (1 more than the previous day)

Deaths: 7New cases
Of the new cases reported today, 11 were imported.
The Health Ministry also said that only 26 new cases were tied to a prison or detention centre cluster.
The surge in cases in Malacca is tied to the Tapak Bina Bali Residence construction site cluster (203 cases).

Deaths
Of the seven fatalities reported, three were from the Klang Valley and all were Malaysian citizens.
The national cumulative Covid-19 death toll has now reached 667.

Patient 135,793 - Male, 69, passed away at the Malacca Hospital, Malacca
Patient 140,367 - Female, 50, passed away at the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital, Batu Pahat, Johor
Patient 147,394 - Male, 74, passed away at the Sibu Hospital, Sarawak
Patient 152,504 - Male, 42, passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital, Selangor
Patient 173,298 - Female, 82, passed away at the Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital, Cheras, Selangor
Patient 174,069 - Male, 46, passed away at the Selayang Hospital, Kuala Lumpur
Patient 174,599 - Male, 52, passed away at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru, Johor
Clusters
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement said the ministry is concerned by the recent increase in workplace clusters.
However, he said this may be due to there being more targeted screenings.
Of the 350 new clusters reported up until Jan 22, 225 (64.3 percent) were workplace-related.
Meanwhile, clusters that reported the highest case increases today were Tapak Bina Bali Residence (203), Pasai (132), and Beringin (74)
