Is Putrajaya Protecting Sharks In Sabah Waters Asks Bersatu
Bersatu information chief Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz has questioned what he described as selective enforcement and prosecution in favour of Pakatan Harapan’s ally, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), whose leaders have been implicated in a mining scandal.
“The question raised is this - are those with ties to the ruling parties being shielded from investigation and prosecution? This concern is further heightened by the silence of Harapan leaders on the matter.
“Such perceptions not only tarnish the image of law enforcement, legal, and judicial institutions, but also undermine public confidence in the principle of the rule of law and equal justice for all,” he said in a Facebook post.
Tun Faisal urged the MACC not to disregard the revelations exposed by businessperson Albert Tei.
ADS“Sabah must be saved, and the (Nov 14) ‘Tangkap Jerung’ (Catch the Sharks) rally represents the people’s outcry - from both Sabah and across Malaysia - against the alleged corruption among GRS government leaders in Sabah and the practice of selective prosecution in this country,” he added.

Yesterday, Federal Territories PAS urged Malaysians nationwide to attend an anti-graft rally scheduled outside the MACC headquarters this Friday, in solidarity with Tei.
Pro-Perikatan Nasional activist Syarul Ema Rena Abu Samah, also known as Ratu Naga, announced the rally over allegations that only “small fish” have been charged since the exposés, while the remaining “sharks” are free.
Tei also backed the protest, saying he too will be in attendance, further urging the government to arrest and charge the remaining “sharks” involved in the scandal.
Following a series of video exposés since last year, more than a dozen politicians - including senior state cabinet members - have been linked to the mining scandal.
However, only three individuals have been charged thus far, namely Tei, state assistant minister Andi Suryady Bandy, who is also incumbent Tanjung Batu assemblyperson and incumbent Sindumin assemblyperson Yusof Yacob.
Tei was charged with offering bribes to the assemblypersons, while the two were charged with accepting the bribes. - Mkini
