Imagine Rightist Akmal S Reaction If This Israeli Flag Display In Kelantan Is Re Enacted In Dap State

DETRACTORS have snubbed rightist UMNO Youth chief Datuk Muhamad Akmal Saleh for what is seemingly a mild reprimand for flying Israeli flag during the “500 Pelayaran Solidariti Kelantan untuk Gaza” event held at Lembah Sireh in Kota Bharu.
This smacks of double standards given the firebrand Merlimau state assemblyman whipped up a nationwide fuss which included threats of mob justice confrontation by his Youth wing when the Jalur Gemilang was flown upside down in DAP-control Penang in the run-up to this year’s Merdeka Day celebration.

For context, Akmal has urged the event organiser Pertubuhan Anak Muda Bangkit Malaysia to apologise for its oversight for waving the Israeli flag merely as a performance gimmick.
“The Zionist flag is only worthy to be trampled on and burned especially in our country, and not to be flown, no matter for event gimmick or otherwise,” he reacted on his Facebook page.

Editor’s Note: Clarifying that the Israeli flag display was part of a simulation – not an expression of support for Israel – programme director Mohd Khairul Hafiz Hassan said the scene was a re-enactment of real events faced by Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) volunteers during their humanitarian mission to Gaza.
Even then Akmal’s soft approach when it involves PAS-ruled Kelantan was so glaring till a commentator wondered “if indeed the Apek Cina (59-year-old hardware shop owner Pang Chin Tian) were the one who does such gimmick in a DAP state, then 1Malaysia will be shaken with an en masse protest”.

Ticking off the defender of race and religion for his double standards, a presumably pro-Madani commenter insisted that Akmal should harshly condemned the flying of Israeli flag instead of merely seeking an apology.
“Go make a police report so that strict action is taken. Rally your youth wing members to hold a rally,” he countered.

Another teased the Melaka Rural Development, Agriculture and Food Security state EXCO that “a demo is unnecessary as the Israeli flag is not flown upside down” as the latter tried to deflect the issue by asking if “the minister who drank alcohol during official government function has apologised for his action”.

The Russian-trained medical doctor was also seemingly agitated as he threatened “to lock the profile” of one commenter who described his reaction as “too gentle coming from the UMNO Youth chief” and that the remarks was made “so long as there is some form of criticism”.

What is obvious, as some commenters have long observed, Akmal “has seemingly been polite when touching on PAS-related matters but has no qualms to even turn up at the place” if such oversight has been committed by “DAP or other races”.
