Hishammuddin Takes Over As Mco Spokesman Tomorrow

Hishammuddin Hussein (left) and Ismail Sabri Yaakob.PETALING JAYA: Senior minister for security Hishammuddin Hussein will take over daily announcements on the movement control order (MCO) effective tomorrow.
In a statement today, deputy prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said Hishammuddin will be replacing him in giving statements and press conferences on SOP enforcement and others throughout the National Recovery Plan.
Ismail has been in charge of the daily updates since March 20, 2020, but was promoted as deputy prime minister earlier this month.
On the enhanced movement control order (EMCO), Ismail meanwhile said several localities in Sabah, Pahang and Kelantan will go under the lockdown from July 28 until Aug 10.
8 areas in Sabah placed under EMCO lockdown
In Sabah, the localities are Kampung Kauran, Keningau; Taman Kinarut Ria, Papar; Kampung Menengah, Kampung Buang Sayang and Kampung Pasir Putih in Sipitang; Kampung Mostyn Lama, Kunak; The Pontian Kuril housing in Kinabatangan; and Kampung Tawadakan, Kota Belud.
Other newly-announced EMCO areas include Kampung Telaga Tujoh, Labok, Machang in Kelantan.
In Pahang, the areas under EMCO are Sungai Klau and Sungai Chalit in the Gali subdistrict, Raub, the IBN Highland construction site at Genting Highlands, Bentong and Kampung Pagar Batu 6 Penjom, Lipis.
Lockdowns ending tomorrow
EMCOs ending tomorrow include at Felda Lembah Klau, in the Gali subdistrict, Raub and the Taman Benus Jaya flats, Bentong, both in Pahang.
In Sabah, the EMCO will end at Taman Muhibbah Phase 1, 2 and 3 residential areas in Beaufort; and also the Beverly Hills Phase 2 Apartment and Kampung Kobusak in Penampang.
The EMCOs at Kampung Kendaie and Kampung Bukit Batu in Lundu, Kuching, Sarawak and also Kampung Bukit Tanah, at the Bukit Jawa subdistrict, Pasir Puteh, Kelantan will also end tomorrow.
EMCO extensions
The EMCO in these areas is extended until Aug 10:
Felda Maokil, Muar, Johor; areas around Kampung Patikang Ulu, Keningau, Sabah, such as Kampung Patikang Ulu, the Focus Lumber factory and quarters, the Veracity factory and quarters, the Hasil Jadi factory and quarters, the IDA driving centre and the Indonesian settlement; and Kampung Madsiang in Penampang, Sabah.MCO offences
The SOP compliance task force ordered 31 premises comprising factories (4) and businesses (27) to close yesterday. Ismail said police arrested 438 people, with 434 fined and four remanded. - FMT
