Hajiji Don T Let Sabah Fall Into Hands Of Leaders Who Ve Already Failed
Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairperson Hajiji Noor has urged voters not to allow Sabah to fall back into the hands of those who had “already failed the people”.
The caretaker chief minister, who is also Gagasan Rakyat president, said the upcoming state election would determine whether Sabah continues to move forward or regress into political instability.
“Do not let Sabah return to the hands of those who have failed before.
“We have worked hard to bring progress and stability.
ADS“The opposition had their chance and they squandered it. Now, they only talk, accuse and divide,” he said during the launch of the GRS election machinery in Kota Kinabalu today.
Hajiji did not name any individuals in his speech, but was clearly referring to Warisan and its leader Shafie Apdal, whom GRS defeated during the 2020 Sabah election.

Ex-CM Shafie Apdal from WarisanAround 20,000 party supporters were present at the launch, including presidents from the GRS component parties, namely Anifah Aman (Parti Cinta Sabah), Chin Su Phin (Liberal Democratic Party), Dr Joachim Gunsalam (Parti Bersatu Sabah), Pandikar Amin Mulia (United Sabah National Organisation) and Liew Yun Fah (Harapan Rakyat Sabah).
Fight lies with truths
Hajiji said the opposition’s efforts to spread disinformation through social media must be met with facts and discipline, calling on all GRS supporters to stay focused and united.
“They keep trying to confuse the people with lies and empty rhetoric. We must fight this with truth.
“Our machinery must work tirelessly, on the ground, online and everywhere, to explain the real issues to the people,” he added.
Hajiji reminded supporters that the state election was “not merely a contest for power, but a battle for Sabah’s future”.
“We are not forced to unite; we choose to unite.
“We come from different parties, different backgrounds and beliefs, but we share one mission, to protect Sabah and ensure it continues to prosper,” he said.

Strong numbers
Speaking to reporters after the event, Hajiji said GRS has a large election machinery spread across all districts, including at the polling district and divisional levels, but declined to reveal the exact numbers.
ADS“Every area has its own machinery and the numbers are strong. I don’t have the actual figure right now, but it’s a lot,” he added.
He also did not dismiss claims that attempts were being made to buy over GRS members ahead of the polls.
“Maybe there are offers, we don’t know. If there are, I’ll make it known,” he said with a smile.
“Let them talk; people know the truth,” he added.
Sabah will be heading to the polls on Nov 29, with nominations set for Nov 15. - Mkini
