Hadi Zahid To Meet Muhyiddin Soon On Political Situation Source

Umno and PAS presidents Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Abdul Hadi Awang are scheduled to meeting Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin soon, according to a source
The meeting will discuss the upcoming parliamentary sitting on May 18 as well as the relations between Perikatan Nasional parties
“The meeting was supposed to take place yesterday (Wednesday) but had to be cancelled due to several unavoidable reasons
“So the meeting is expected to take place soon to discuss several matters especially those regarding the parliamentary sitting
“We are aware that Pakatan Harapan leaders have submitted no-confidence motions against the prime minister and this would surely be discussed,” the source told Malaysiakini today
The source said the meeting would also discuss other current affairs, including cooperation within PN
Earlier, Malaysiakini reported that former prime minister and Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad has filed a notice to the Dewan Rakyat speaker for a no-confidence motion against Muhyiddin
At the same time, Semporna MP Shafie Apdal has moved a motion of confidence supporting Mahathir
However, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Mohamad Ariff Mohd Yusof has rejected Shafie’s motion as unconstitutional
Meanwhile, the source said Muhyiddin, Zahid, and Hadi are expected to discuss the formal registration of PN as a coalition
Umno has already decided against formally joining PN and PAS is expected to follow suit, the source said
“So these issues will be raised in the meeting and Umno has clearly rejected registering PN
“These matters will be discussed and further studied to find an amicable solution,” the source said. - Mkini
