Hadi Leave Pm Job To Those Below 70 Physically Healthy

PAS MUKTAMAR | Leaders above the age of 70 should not be a prime minister, according to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.
The Marang MP said this during a press conference today when asked if he wants to be the prime minister candidate for Perikatan Nasional.
"The Quran said when choosing a leader, (the person) must be knowledgeable, has integrity, and be healthy.
"People like me are no longer eligible. Firstly, a leader must be healthy, below the age of 70.
"A prime minister must be someone who is strong," he told reporters after launching PAS’ 71st muktamar in Alor Setar, Kedah.
The question came as Hadi, during his policy speech earlier, indicated the party's readiness to govern the country.  
According to him, PAS is focused on winning the next general election rather than deliberating on who would be its prime minister candidate.
Hadi said the matter can be discussed and decided internally by PN leadership after securing victory in the national polls.
Health issues
For the record, the PAS chief is turning 78 next month and facing health issues with reported hospitalisation on various occasions.
Hadi’s remarks could also be interpreted as a signal to PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin, whose party Bersatu nominated him to be PN's prime minister candidate.
Ex-PM Muhyiddin YassinThe former prime minister is 78 and had previously battled pancreatic cancer. While Muhyiddin has reportedly fully recovered, there have been rumours that the Pagoh MP is facing health issues.
Sarawak Report previously claimed that in 2020 Muhyiddin had breached Covid-19 home quarantine to seek cancer treatment in Singapore, but the Prime Minister's Office at the time denied the allegation.
In 2021, the then-premier was hospitalised after suffering from diarrhoea.
Last month, former Sungai Besar Bersatu chief Hasnizam Adham on Facebook hinted at Muhyiddin’s health condition and that the PN leader was in hospital for treatment.
However, Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali dismissed this, saying Muhyiddin was in good health and active.
Another political leader who is above the age of 70 is Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is only about three months younger than Muhyiddin. - Mkini
