Girl S Strong Aversion Towards Bean Sprouts Draws Criticism And Laughter

DURING our childhood, we may encounter difficulty eating those disgusting greens such as the boiled broccoli, peas and whatever plant that has been shoved onto our plates. It’s way easier being a carnivore, of that, there is no debate.
But what happens when two teenagers decide to make a complete drama out of eating bean sprouts, and worse, recording it for content purposes?
Tell that to a lady who showed herself crying for ordering kuey teow and forgetting to mention that she didn’t want bean sprouts in it.
The result? Her boyfriend had to remove the sprouts one by one. And the ones she accidentally ate? The drama queen decided to spit it out into her boyfriend’s hand.
People can only wonder if she was really afraid of bean sprouts or simply trying to gain attention.
But netizen @ohtweet validated her action, saying that he did it too when he was a teenager but didn’t have a mobile to record it.

Then there was @wanstarz91 pointing out the need to record such a thing in the first place. “Are you retarded? Kids nowadays have such mental illness,” he added.
Also, @jenazahcinta717 wondered if they were so poor they couldn’t make another order instead of going through all that drama.

Perhaps the best comment came from @PhatAyed:

On another note, should bean sprouts be treated with such fear and revulsion? According to the website WebMD, bean sprouts pack a nutritional punch, offering a mix of vitamins, minerals, and plant compounds that support overall health.
Rich in vitamin C for immunity and vitamin K for bone health, they also provide protein, fibre, folate, manganese, phosphorus, and iron, all of which contribute to their signature crunch and nutritional value.
One potential benefit of bean sprouts is their role in supporting healthy blood pressure.
WebMD went on to state that bean sprouts contain peptides, which are protein fragments that may mimic the effects of certain blood pressure medications. While promising, these compounds should be seen as complementary to, not a substitute for, medical treatment.
Research also suggests that the proteins and other nutrients in bean sprouts may play a part in lowering cancer risk.
Some studies indicate they can help slow the spread of cancer cells, including those linked to breast cancer, leukaemia, and cancers of the digestive system. That said, don’t be such a drama queen and eat your sprouts. — Focus Malaysia
