First Public Protest Within 19 Months Pkr Pun Akan Datang Huh
"PKR Melaka dan beberapa rakan lama (dia) juga akan datang . ."
Did you know that the very first public protest against Abdullah Badawi's corrupt regime was led by me - Syed Akbar Ali.
Well that was the caption under my picture in one of the mainstream newspapers which carried the story at that time "Syed Akbar Ali leading the protesters".
I think it was 2005 (forgot exact year) and we were protesting the Bazaar Ramadan corruption in Jalan Masjid India. Dato Ameer Ali Mydin and myself organised all the businessmen in Jalan Masjid India to close our businesses and march in the street to the DBKL HQ in Jalan Raja Laut.
Today Malaysiakini has reported about another public protest, the first public protest against the present regime. You can read Malaysiakini's story here : https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/709525
Fauzi Kadir at Permadu Malaysia blog has given his take as well.
