Fadhlina Swan Has Strong Potential To Drive National Development

Wanita PKR chief Fadhlina Sidek said SWAN is not only committed to achieving at least 30 per cent female representation in decision-making roles, but also to ensuring that women contribute meaningfully to national development. - Bernama picKUALA LUMPUR: The Women's School (SWAN), an initiative by the PKR women's wing, has strong potential to empower women and nurture them into knowledgeable, visionary and effective leaders.
Wanita PKR chief Fadhlina Sidek said SWAN is not only committed to achieving at least 30 per cent female representation in decision-making roles, but also to ensuring that women contribute meaningfully to national development.
"While the gender gap continues to narrow in areas such as education and workforce participation, women's involvement in politics and leadership remains low.
"SWAN was established nearly a year ago to strengthen women's roles in social activism and human capital development.
"It is being implemented with care, supported by a structured framework. The principal oversees daily operations, while the teaching staff comprise experts in their respective fields," the Education Minister said in a Facebook post today.
Fadhlina, who is also the Nibong Tebal Member of Parliament, said SWAN welcomes participation from individuals of all ages, backgrounds and political affiliations.
She said participants are exposed to a wide range of modules covering politics, democracy, human-centred economics, communication, law, personality development and presentability.
"It may still be too early to assess SWAN's full impact. What matters most is that the initiative continues. The effects of education require time, commitment and sustained effort," she said.
SWAN was officially launched by the Prime Minister's wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, on May 7, 2024, in Putrajaya. — BERNAMA
