Existing Miti Authorisation Letters Valid Until June 28

Police will continue to accept travel letters or permits issued by 12 ministries and agencies approved by the National Security Council.KUALA LUMPUR: The letter of approval obtained by companies via the Covid-19 intelligent management system (CIMS) for the movement control order (MCO) 3.0 since June 1 will be valid throughout the extension period of the lockdown.
The CIMS approval letter would be valid from June 15 to 28, the international trade and industry ministry (Miti) said in a statement today.
The announcement was prompted by the extension of the current phase of the MCO for another two weeks.
Initially slated to end on June 14, it is now extended to June 28.
The National Security Council (MKN) had made it compulsory for all essential businesses and its chain of supporting industries to have the CIMS 3.0 operating approval letter from the one-stop centre manned by Miti, with the approval of the relevant ministries.
Yesterday, senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said MKN had decided to extend the lockdown for another two weeks as Covid-19 cases are still high.
Meanwhile, police will continue accepting movement permit applications from essential economic sector workers until the total lockdown expires on June 28, said home minister Hamzah Zainudin.
“Following the government’s decision to extend the total lockdown until June 28, the police will continue to accept travel letters or permits issued by 12 ministries and agencies approved by MKN.
“This is for the purpose of coordinating enforcement on movement control at roadblocks,” he said at a press conference on compliance of MCO 3.0 rules here today.
He said police had set up 1,000 roadblocks and closed 129 “rat trails”, identified as alternative routes used by the public for illegal interstate and inter-district travel.
“Strict action will be taken against any party found falsifying movement permits or providing false information to the authorities in order to obtain permit approvals,” said Hamzah. - FMT
