Docs Held Over Illegal Selling Of Covid 19 Vaccines In Klang

Police recently arrested three individuals believed to be involved in the illegal selling of Covid-19 vaccines in Klang, Selangor.
It was learned that authorities have yet to ascertain if the syndicate had been selling the real vaccine or placebo, but law enforcement sources indicated that the substance they peddled had already been administered to workers of a factory some two months ago.
Sources also claimed that two of the individuals suspected in the case are doctors.
The alleged activity was uncovered earlier this month when the factory sent its employees to get their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, only to learn that the Klang district health office had no record of their first injection.
"The factory (management) said its workers have received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
"But when they went to get their second dose, checks by health authority found no record of them getting their first jab," said a source familiar with the case.
Another official told Malaysiakini that the incident prompted a healthcare worker, who is attached to a vaccination centre in Selangor, to lodge a police report.
Police then launched an investigation, which led them to the arrests. The three had since been released on police bail.
Selangor police chief Arjunaidi Mohamed (above) said investigators are still working on the case.
He said at this juncture, the case is being probed under Section 420 of the Penal Code that stipulates offences related to cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property.
Arjunaidi also confirmed that three suspects have been arrested in relation to the case, but declined to reveal their identity, including their profession.
"We are still in the middle of an investigation. There has yet to be a conclusion," Arjunaidi told Malaysiakini.
"For now, we are using Section 420 (Penal Code) first to investigate this case," he added.
