Daim S Ilham Tower Uk Assets Targeted In Macc Forfeiture Bid
MACC has filed several applications to forfeit assets belonging to former finance minister Daim Zainuddin and his widow - including the Ilham Tower.
MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki said the applications were filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court earlier today.
“We’re initiating the forfeiture process today, and it’s not an easy one - there are many things that need to be done.
“In fact, the documents (on Ilham Tower) are particularly thick,” Azam told a press conference at the graft buster’s headquarters in Putrajaya.

In 2023, the MACC seized the building under the MACC Act 2009.
Noting today that more of Daim’s assets will go through similar forfeiture proceedings, Azam added that authorities in the United Kingdom have also agreed to the anti-graft agency’s request to forfeit Daim’s assets located there.
Azam said the overseas assets, worth around RM700 million, belong to Daim’s family and their proxies.
“We informed the UK authorities, and as of yesterday, they've confirmed the filing of the (forfeiture) order there as well.
“This is a new development - they (UK authorities) have agreed to the MACC’s restraining order, and the case will proceed in a UK court,” Azam said. - Mkini
