Bersatu Youth Accepts Bn Sec Gen S Apology Over Booing Incident

After being booed by BN Youth members two days ago, Bersatu Youth's leadership today expressed their willingness to let the matter pass and work together to help BN win the Slim by-election
Freshly elected Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal said they have accepted the apology issued by BN secretary-general Annuar Musa, and welcomed the olive branch
"I am aware of the incident. Coincidentally, when this happened, we (Bersatu Youth) were in the midst of our (party division) meetings that were being held nationwide
"This was quite upsetting. However, I think what had been announced by Annuar on this issue, where he had also apologised for the BN election machinery, on behalf of Bersatu Youth I welcome and accept the apology," he said during a press conference at Bersatu headquarters in Petaling Jaya
The presser was held to introduce the line-up of new Bersatu Youth exco members for the 2019-2021 term, who won in the party election on Saturday
Fayhsal added that regardless of what had happened, they were ready to cooperate with the youth wings of BN and PAS in the Slim by-election
"Bersatu Youth at the national level hopes that this incident won't happen again
"And we are ready to work with Umno and PAS youth wings to ensure that the BN candidate will win the election," he said
On Saturday, a crowd of BN supporters repeatedly booed Bersatu Youth during the launch of BN Youth's election machinery for the Slim polls
Adding to the apparent humiliating treatment, at the event Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had told the Bersatu youth wing to prove its worth in the by-election
Following the incident, Annuar had expressed his shock on Twitter, saying that he hoped it did not really happen
He also issued an apology for the incident. - Mkini
