Albert Presses Azam For Answers On Rats Urges Pest Control In Macc
Businessperson Albert Tei has reignited concerns over the alleged rodent problem in the MACC, pressing chief commissioner Azam Baki for answers and urging him to carry out pest control to address the infestation.
“I am worried about the current situation because it has been proven that there are ‘rats’ within the MACC who leaked my recorded testimony to (Sabah Chief Minister) Hajiji Noor.
“In this regard, I would like to ask Azam: How many ‘rats’ were involved in this incident, and what positions do these ‘rats’ hold within the MACC?” he asked in a statement.
Previously, Tei (above, right) - who implicated more than a dozen politicians from Hajiji’s Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition - said he would not cooperate with the MACC until the “rats” are caught.
He also alleged that a “very high-ranking officer” from the MACC had threatened him against lodging a report on the scandal, forcing him to turn to the media instead.
To date, Azam (above, left) has not commented on the alleged leak or threat.

In his latest statement, Tei urged the MACC chief commissioner to carry out a clean-up to eradicate the “rats” within the agency, claiming it would not be difficult to identify them.
“Azam must promptly announce the results of the disciplinary investigation concerning the ‘rats’ as well as the preventive measures to curb the breeding of ‘rats’ in MACC.
“The failure of the MACC in investigation procedures and the protection of confidential information and data has left me feeling anxious, stressed, and confused,” he added.
Status update
Tei also demanded an update on the status of the investigation into his latest corruption allegation video and screenshots of WhatsApp messages implicating Sabah Deputy Chief Minister I and Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) president Jeffrey Kitingan.

Sabah Deputy Chief Minister I and Star president Jeffrey Kitingan“The corruption allegations against Kitingan are supported by video recordings, WhatsApp records, and letters.
“In addition, there is also a video recording of witness Rizal Johari, who is the private secretary to Kitingan. The case facts are more than complete. What further action will MACC take?” he asked.
Tei further told Malaysiakini that the MACC has yet to call him in for questioning.
On Oct 1, Azam confirmed that 10 people, including Kitingan, had been summoned over allegations that the Sabah politician received RM1.78 million from Tei.
So far, Tei and two assemblypersons have been charged with corruption since the scandal broke. The fate of the others remains unclear, fuelling allegations of a cover-up. - Mkini
