18 Arrested Fined For Late Night Wild Party In Kl
During the raid, loud music was being played and all 18 suspects were drinking alcohol. (PDRM pic)PETALING JAYA: The police have arrested 18 people for taking part in a wild party in a condominium at Jalan Metro Prima Barat, Kepong in Kuala Lumpur.
In a statement, Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai said its narcotics division raided the condominium around 1am, deatining 11 men and seven women between the ages of 19 and 42.
During the raid, loud music was being played and all 18 suspects were drinking alcohol. One plastic packet suspected to contain 27.5g of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) powder was also found.
“Preliminary investigations found that one of the male suspects, a 27-year-old, had organised the party. The suspect promoted the party through the WeChat application, charging up to RM150 to rent a room for three hours.
“The suspect started conducting this activity since early August this year,” said Beh.
Twelve of the detainees tested positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine and ketamine, while the six others were negative.
The case is being probed under Section 39A(1) of the Poisons Act 1952 with police set to apply to remand them tomorrow for further investigations.
All 18 suspects were fined RM4,000 under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021 for breaching movement restrictions under the national recovery plan.
“The public is advised against being involved in activities that go against the law, including breaching SOPs set by the government under the recovery plan,” said Beh. - FMT
