Zahid Tajuddin Knows What He Did Wrong

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today refused to explain why he decided to remove Tajuddin Abdul Rahman from the party’s supreme council.
Speaking to reporters in Kuala Lumpur, Zahid (above) urged reporters to address the question to Tajuddin.
“It’s not fair for me to make it public. Surely he knows what he has been doing to the party.
“He knows the contents of his public statements, public speeches and he said in closed-door meetings,” said Zahid.
Zahid added all supreme council members must adhere to decisions made by the party, especially those made by the annual delegates assembly.
“We have to toe the party line,” said Zahid, adding that there were no provisions in the party for his decision to be appealed.
Tajuddin Abdul RahmanTajuddin was told of his removal from the supreme council on June 21. He was co-opted into the council by Zahid in 2018.
Apart from Tajuddin, Zahid also removed Annuar Musa as the BN secretary-general in January 2021.
Meanwhile, Zahid was ambiguous when asked to comment on Johor Umno deputy chief Nur Jazlan Mohammed’s criticism of Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who is also an Umno vice-president.
“That is his personal opinion. I haven’t read his statement word-by-word,” said Zahid.
Several other Umno figures such as vice-president Mahdzir Khalid and former youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin had criticised Nur Jazlan for not using internal channels to complain about Ismail Sabri.
Among others, Nur Jazlan accused Ismail Sabri of being “weak” for failing to remove Zuraida Kamaruddin from his cabinet. - Mkini
