Yoursay It S Back To School For Kedah Mb Not His Critics
YOURSAY | ‘He sounds like someone who is suffering from ‘mabuk kuasa’.’
Kedah MB tells critics to take BM classes after racial slur accusations
ADUN SPEAKS | Kedah MB should enrol in morals class
Dr Raman: I must give it to you, Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor. What a class act.
Usually, when politicians screw up, they will say they have been misquoted, there was miscommunication, it was wrong reporting, or they would threaten legal action.
But you said we don't understand Bahasa Malaysia and need to retake BM lessons to understand the deeper meanings of your remarks. I guess you also meant this for the Malays since Umno Youth exco member Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris (Papagomo) also got it wrong.
But then you quoted examples such as mabuk cinta (drunk on love), mabuk kuasa (drunk on power), mabuk popularity (drunk on popularity), which even school kids know their meanings very well.
I trust you when you said you didn't make any racially sensitive remarks by saying “mabuk todi popularity” (drunk on toddy popularity) and “janganlah minum hanya sebotol, mabuknya dua tiga botol” (drunk on two or three bottles after drinking only one), which was quoted from your statement.
But you didn't explain the real meaning hidden between the lines. Can I take it to mean “toddy boosts political popularity”, or “the greatness of toddy comes from not one but two or three bottles”?
We just hope this novel excuse will not catch on, otherwise toddy will become even more popular, and there will be more raids on supermarkets.
MW: “Mabuk popularity” is not the same as “mabuk todi popularity” - adding the word ‘toddy’ meant he intended it as a racial slur. This mabuk kuasa MB needs BM lessons himself.
Malaysia Bharu: The Kedah MB must first be sent back to school and taught how to communicate with people in a civilised manner.
The fact that he has sunk to the level of using words such as ‘mabuk’ and ‘toddy’ indicates his arrogance, low mentality, lack of basic communication skills and mostly his aversion towards Indians in general.
In blatantly demolishing the temple (Sri Raja Muniswarar Hindu Temple in Taman Bersatu, Kuala Kedah) and using foul language to defend himself, he is in effect adding insult to injury. He is definitely unfit to serve in a multiracial environment, let alone as MB.
Mazilamani: If the MB has offended the non-Malays, just apologise. Sanusi should be an MB for all races, including the constituencies that voted in favour of the opposition.
Sanusi should speak to the people of Kedah in simple language, minus metaphors and proverbs. He was not addressing intellectuals at an education forum.
Meanwhile, Jeram assemblyperson Mohd Shaid Rosli initially called for the closure of the non-halal section of Jaya Grocer in Puncak Alam in his constituency, following supposedly overwhelming complaints by his voters.
Now he claims he only called for the removal of liquor from the supermarket. If so, why was that particular non-halal section boarded? He was equally ungrateful to non-Malays who voted for him.
Frankly, such idiotic politicians are feeding negative intentions to a section of the bumiputera community and working to furiously destroy national unity, which the founding fathers worked hard to nurture.
BrownRabbit6629: I absolutely agree with Bagan Dalam assemblyperson Satees Muniandy. The MB certainly needs to go back to school. He uses his tough tactics to whack the non-Malays to show off his bravado to the Malays.
Meanwhile, I am not sure he can make improvement in mathematics even after attending the classes when he does not even know the difference between ‘billion’ and ‘trillion’. Ask him how many zeros there are in a billion and he would probably stare at you blankly.
Well, this is the kind of leader we find in PAS, lacking knowledge in both maths and science. Their only weapons to win the political ground are religion and race.
Flyingeagle: You might as well chair the state assembly with pantun (limericks) and peribahasa (metaphors). Kedah will surely be rich and its rakyat more harmonious if you do so.
You told critics to go and learn Bahasa Malaysia to understand your statement. Can the rakyat tell you to go and learn business management so that you can run the state well?
Alumoodan08: We all know what you meant, Sanusi. Backpedalling won’t help.
You have just done a disservice to your coalition. Surely you must know that your constituents are not just people of your race.
Your illiterate response has just become bigger than the issue that you started off with. But we know that you really do not care so long as you have your desired backers.
Coward: One thing you have to accept is that in Malaysia, getting politicians to admit he is wrong is ridiculously impossible. This cuts across the political divide.
It's always the journalists that reported it wrongly, or twisted one's words, even when it was recorded or in writing. Failing that, it is the public that is to blame for reading it wrongly, despite the fact that the vast majority of the public read it the same "wrong" way.
When one says something wrong, admit it and move on. Nobody is a saint and not even a saint can do no wrong.
KK Chettiar: The MB sounds like someone who is suffering from mabuk kuasa.
Arrogance knows no decency - he should just apologise, and remedy the situation instead of dragging it further. - Mkini
