PERAK 18-11-2018.Thousand of protesters, comprising from political party, Umno and Pas, and non governmental organisations gathered at the Kampung Gajah taxi stand to oppose the ratification of the ICERD. There are no signs that UMNO and PAS are prepared to do so, as their leaders and Members of Parliament do not regard the international 1MDB corruption, criminal breach of trust and money-laundering scandal or the infamy and ignominy to Malaysia to be regarded worldwide as a global kleptocracy to be of any concern at all
This is why in the 2019 Budget debate in Parliament, while the 1MDB scandal continues to make daily waves internationally, not a single UMNO or PAS MP dare to take a stand that the monstrous 1MDB “kleptocracy at its worst” scandal is a national catastrophe and that the former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak must be held responsible for the infamy of Malaysia becoming a global kleptocracy
This despite my public reminder before the budget debate that every Opposition MP should declare his or her stand whether 1MDB scandal was a national catastrophe and whether Najib should be held responsible for Malaysia becoming a global kleptocracy
UMNO and PAS is getting cosier with each other, with a joint rally in Pasir Salak on Saturday, and another major protest rally in Kuala Lumpur on Dec. 8.But would any UMNO or PAS leader make a clear stand against immorality, greed, corruption and abuses of power by giving unreserved condemnation of the 1MDB scandal which had stolen tens of billions of ringgit of funds belonging to the Malaysian people which could have been used to create more jobs and raise the incomes of all Malaysians, build more homes and hospitals as well as provide more places in schools and universities for Malaysian students
As I do not see any such signs, let us hear from UMNO and PAS leaders whether any such joint protest rally to condemn Najib, the 1MDB scandal and Malaysia being regarded as a global kleptocracy is in the pipeline in the “honeymoon-buildup” by UMNO and PAS
