Why Are Some People So Serious All The Time
Well, I suppose it depends on what you define as “serious”.Do you mean that someone is very focused?
Or perhaps a person who rarely expresses their emotions?
What about someone who is struggling with mental issues, e.g. anxiety or depression?
The answer to this question will vary, since people are serious for different reasons. It could range from personal issues to the fact that they just don’t want to put on a public face.
Now, let me explain what “public face” means. It is the face you wear if you are out of the safety of your home, or interacting with someone other than a close friend/partner.
But at the same time, an act of seriousness could be their public face. They do not wish to look “open” so others can talk to them – they would rather be left alone. Their personality could be closed off to strangers, but the exact opposite with loved ones.
Or it could be that it takes a lot to invoke a reaction from someone, meaning they are calm people. For example, you have audience who cheer and scream in pop concerts but others who merely sing along under their breath.
Everyone is different, and one can only speculate why some people act serious. Why some people act happy. Why some people always smile. Why some people always frown.
The answer is different for every person and it is not fair to place people in categories.
Assumptions are good, but they are not always fact. –Catherine Forte
