Who Speaks On Behalf Of Umno Pkr Perikatan And Pakatan
On Umno’s side, if what they say is true — in that Umno has already cerai talak tiga with Perikatan Nasional — then to continue sleeping in the same Perikatan Nasional bed with Bersatu (and PAS as well, if Umno also cerai talak tiga with PAS) would be zina.
NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
The problem with Perikatan Nasional is not that Umno cannot get along with Bersatu and PAS. It is quite normal for politicians to quarrel, bad-mouth, bitch, play the victim, sabre-rattle, threaten, engage in pissing contests, strut around like peacocks, make wishy-washy statements, U-turn, and much more. It is what politicians do. It is that Malaysians no longer know whether these politicians are coming or going.
Read (BELOW) some of the news that have been published over the last few hours. In the first place, who is the authorised spokesperson who is allowed to make policy statements on behalf of their parties or on behalf of the coalition their parties are in?
Everyone is making policy statements and they are trying to give the impression that they speak on behalf of their party, or the coalition their parties are in, and that they have been given the authorisation to issue these policy statements.
Is this being done on purpose — in that they intentionally make contradicting or conflicting statements so that the voters will get confused and will not know whether they are coming or going?
It is okay if Umno does not wish to work with Bersatu, or with PAS, or Umno wishes to work with PKR, or even with DAP, or Umno wants Najib Tun Razak, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Mohamad Hasan, Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Ahmad Maslan, Anwar Ibrahim, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, or whoever as PM9. But Umno has to be very clear and not ambiguous about what it wants.
Decide what you want and make that stand clear. Clear up the confusion and ambiguity once and for all and the people will respect whatever it is that Umno wants — if the people can first of all understand what it is that Umno wants.
Even DAP appears uncertain of what it wants. DAP says they do not want to work with Umno or ex-Umno crooks, thieves and robbers and yet they work with Mahathir, Anwar and Daim Zainuddin.
Mahathir, Anwar and Daim combined stole more money than all those other Umno people put together. So why is DAP prepared to work with the number one crooks, thieves and robbers but refuses to work with the ‘smaller’ crooks, thieves and robbers? That is very confusing.
DAP whacks PAS for being too Islamic and says that is the reason they cannot work with PAS. Are they saying PKR and Amanah are NOT Islamic and that is why DAP can work with them?
What are the examples where PAS is too Islamic and PKR and Amanah are NOT Islamic? DAP will need to give the examples to justify why they reject the Islamic PAS but can accept the un-Islamic or non-Islamic PKR and Amanah.
Take one example, the RUU355 issue. Anwar Ibrahim was asked about his stand on the RUU355 and Hudud in general. Anwar said that as a Muslim he cannot reject Sharia laws or even Hudud, but Malaysians first need to be educated about these laws, and only when people are ready to accept them should they be implemented.
So, there you go. All Anwar is saying is 1,400 years of educating people on Islam is not enough. We may need another few hundred years of education before Islam can be fully implemented in Malaysia. After all, Malaysians are very slow learners.
Hence it is not true that PAS is too Islamic while PKR and Amanah are un-Islamic or non-Islamic. All Anwar said is they will implement Islam later, once the people are able to accept it. And that could be, say, by 2050 or 2100 when, say, Malaysia’s Muslim population is 70-75% and the non-Muslims have been reduced to a very small minority.
Even in Pakatan Harapan everyone is making conflicting and contradicting statements and we do not know who the official spokesperson is. Just on the issue of working with Umno, the Pakatan Harapan leaders cannot seem to decide what the policy is. Lim Guan Eng says no way and Anwar Ibrahim says the door is still open.
So, which is it? Yes or no to working with Umno?
On Umno’s side, if what they say is true — in that Umno has already cerai talak tiga with Perikatan Nasional — then to continue sleeping in the same Perikatan Nasional bed with Bersatu (and PAS as well, if Umno also cerai talak tiga with PAS) would be zina.
And Umno needs to once and for all tell Malaysians who the official spokespersons, authorised to issue policy statements on behalf of the party and the coalition, are. Currently, every Tom, Dick and Harry, is issuing policy statements, only to be denied later as that person’s personal view and not the view of the party or of the coalition.
