Warisan Leader Slams Sabah Dap S Double Standard On Corruption
A Warisan leader has called out Sabah DAP for allegedly practising "double standard" when it comes to criticising corruption.
This came after Sabah DAP Youth chief Chan Loong Wei slammed Sabah Deputy Chief Minister I Jeffrey Kitingan over a slew of corruption allegations related to mining projects in the state.
In a statement, Kota Kinabalu Warisan division information chief Samuel Wong pointed out that the DAP wing leader targeted Kitingan only after the latter's party, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star), had left Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).
GRS is a coalition of parties that is leading the Sabah state government. It is an ally of Pakatan Harapan, of which DAP is a part.
"... why Chan was suddenly painting Kitingan as corrupt only after he left their coalition, but had remained silent when multiple viral videos implicating at least nine GRS state assemblypersons and ministers in alleged corruption surfaced?” Wong (above) asked.

Sabah DAP Youth chief Chan Loong Wei"Even now, with the infamous nine viral videos circulating on social media showing GRS leaders in compromising situations, including two assemblypersons and one assistant minister who has already been charged in court, and also video thumbnails of top leaders in GRS component parties, including Kitingan, appearing in alleged corruption videos, DAP remains completely silent.
"What happened to their so-called principles of clean government?" Wong added.
Earlier this week, Kitingan, who is Star president, confirmed the party's exit from GRS following a disagreement over seat-sharing arrangements with Harapan and its refusal to use the GRS logo in the upcoming Sabah state election.
Chan then reportedly criticised Kitingan, accusing him of using Harapan as a scapegoat to deflect public attention from the alleged corruption scandal. - Mkini
