Warisan Dangles Bird S Nest House For Veveonah S Family If It Wins State Polls

SABAH POLLS | Warisan is dangling aid in the form of a bird's nest house to help university student Veveonah Mosibin if they win the upcoming state election
This comes one day after the Universiti Malaysia Sabah student landed in the spotlight following false accusations made against her by Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Zahidi Zainul Abidin
In a statement, Warisan vice-president Junz Wong said he would personally make the contribution if the party retains control of the state
"If Warisan wins big in the September polls, I will personally ensure Veveonah and family receives a free bird's nest house," he said
Wong justified the campaign promise, by saying it is a continuation of the Warisan state government's bird's nest house programme which has been implemented since 2018
The caretaker Sabah Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry said there had 150 bird's nest houses built in Sabah in 2019, of which 55 were built in the Pitas, Kudat district
Pitas is Veveonah's hometown, which has been won by BN for several elections
"Pitas and Kudat area have been held by Umno for such a long time, yet it is today the poorest district in Malaysia. The poorest of the poor
"Warisan is well aware of this fact. That is why after taking over the Sabah Government, we immediately started turning Pitas into a bird's nest hub," Wong said
"Can Sabah really deliver the free swiftlet's house for Veveonah? We can. We have done so with many Sabahans, and it is designed to help Sabahans like Veveonah and family." he added
Veveonah first shot to fame in June when she posted a video of herself staying on a treetop, to get internet access so she can sit for her university exams
Yesterday, Zahidi claimed in the Dewan Negara that this was a publicity stunt and that there were no exams at the time
However, he later said he had received wrong information regarding the exams and apologised to the student. - Mkini
