Wan Fayhsal On Cabinet Reshuffle If It S Not Broken Don T Fix It

Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal stressed that there was no need for cabinet reshuffle as hinted by former premier Najib Abdul Razak.
Najib, in a Facebook post yesterday, said he was open to continuing conditional support for Perikatan Nasional (PN) but there should be renegotiation so that Umno and BN were given bigger roles in economic matters which he said are being "monopolised" by Bersatu.

Fayhsal, who is also Bersatu youth chief, said the current ministers dealing with finance and economy have performed well.
"Currently the Finance Minister (Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz), advices and efficiently assists the Prime Minister (Muhyiddin Yassin).
"The people are satisfied and the Economic Stimulus Implementation and Coordination Unit (Laksana) clearly showed that the government is really concerned about the people," he said.
Fayhsal commended Zafrul's implementation of economic policies and said the minister was assisted by other experienced lawmakers, Mustapa Mohamed and Azmin Ali.
"If it ain't broken, why fix it," he told Malaysiakini today.

Najib had said that with Umno taking a leading role in the country's finance, the party could help with effective planning of economic stimulus, extending the loan moratorium, and expediting special aid for Sabah.

Najib shared how he had repeatedly vented his frustration with the PN government's management of the Covid-19 outbreak in the country, especially involving the prison clusters.
He said although Umno was not involved in the related ministry, the party would still be blamed for any consequences arising from the pandemic.
To that, Fayhsal said that Najib had a right to share his personal opinion.
He said the Umno ministers, while not holding health-related portfolios, still contributed to saving the country from the health and economic crises stemming from the pandemic. - Mkini
