Video Of Playful Elephant Calf Mounting Its Caretaker Steals Netizens Hearts

ALTHOUGH elephants are such huge lumbering creatures, their calves are not very different from a puppy. Albeit, a large, hairless puppy with an elongated nose. 
Recently, a video went viral on X, showing how an elephant calf was able to cuddle up and play with its caretaker.
Cuteness overload, that’s what. It was a warm moment, which captured the hearts of netizens, young or old.
The calf could be seen trying to mount its caretaker, and at times, harassing him playfully with its trunk while the mother watched close by.
“I just love how baby elephants have no understanding of how absolutely massive they are so they just behave like big dogs,” said @LoyalYashFaan.
Another netizen pointed out that elephant calves typically do not learn to control their trunks until they are about one year old, resulting in them swinging it about.
But there is always the odd ball, which in this post, came in the form of @j_settembrino who remarked that elephants are ugly.

Towards this comment, @Mr__LA said elephants do not need the approval of people who were too ashamed to show their own faces.

Away from all the cuteness and occasional hate, here is also some fun fact about elephants to consider. 
According to the World Wildlife Federation, elephants have incredibly complex trunks, made up of about 150,000 individual muscle units. This makes it one of the most sensitive organs among mammals.
These versatile trunks allow elephants to draw up and hold as much as eight litres of water for drinking. When swimming, elephants cleverly use their trunks like snorkels to breathe.
Also, their tusks, which begin emerging around the age of two, are actually elongated teeth which continue to grow throughout the elephant’s life.
Further on, elephants are naturally equipped with thick skin, at about 2.5 cm in most areas to cope with the harsh environment.
