Use Spm Certificate Instead Of Mykad To Quality For Fuel Subsidy Said Netizen

MALAYSIANS are already complaining about the new targeted RON95 petrol subsidy system, which requires using their Malaysian Identity Card (MyKad) or linked apps for verification.
Among their concerns are such as system failures, long queues, potential data theft, and inconvenience compared to previous payment methods.
But are there any other alternatives to the MyKad, or do we just stick to the same old method?
One netizen, or rather, comedian, said that instead of MyKad, people should instead use their SPM certificate when filling up their petrol so the foolish people will not be eligible.
“So counting if we get one A, we get 100 litres?” said netizen @jllmisai.
A good number of netizens were tickled pink by the idea and the comedy continues in the comment section.
“This idea is good too. All the Mat Rempits will not be able to fuel up after this. The road is peaceful,” said @LohongMinda while @bayusegar wondered if they got a grade D, they can only fill up with diesel?

Also, @tekatekims3 sympathised with the home schooled kids who didn’t take SPM.

But what is all about this brouhaha? To recap, starting September 30, all Malaysians can buy RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre under the new targeted subsidy scheme called Budi95.
On the other hand, non citizens and large companies have to pay at RM2.60 per litre. Note that each Malaysian qualifies for up to 300 litres of subsidised RON95 per month while e-hailing drivers are exempted from the 300-litre cap.
To prepare for the implementation, MyKad readers have been installed at fuel pumps and inside convenience stores to ease congestion.
Just for the sake of entertainment, we think it is actually a fun idea to use SPM certificates to qualify for fuel subsidy.
A wise and learned person should be better able to appreciate the subsidies provided by the government, and hopefully, behave as a better, more conscientious consumer. — Focus Malaysia
