Ump Introduces Mobile App For Students

UMP students displaying the ADAB@UMP mobile application on their smartphones. - Pic courtesy of UMPKUANTAN: The popularity of mobile applications in the "new normal" has prompted Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) to introduce their very own ADAB@UMP for its undergraduates.
Students can obtain information related to their welfare, academics, latest happenings on campus, finance, route maps and facilities offered at both the Gambang and Pekan campuses during their studies.
The application developed by the university's Student Affairs Department and its Information and Communication Technology Centre also provides links to departments in UMP, selected online banking facilities, social media platforms and the MySejahtera application.
UMP vice-chancellor Professor Dr Wan Azhar Wan Yusoff said the uncertainties brought about by the Covid-19 led to the development of the app to ensure the academic services, student development and campus administration were always at their best.
"Although students are currently not physically present on campus, UMP has been consistently making improvements through its online services especially for the convenience of its undergraduates. New additional features will be offered through ADAB@UMP in line with the current requirements.
"We want to bring greater convenience to UMP students and hope the mobile application will serve as an important information link between the university and its students. Students can gain access to various information and platforms with just a click away," he said after virtually launching the application in conjunction with UMP's orientation day for new diploma, pre-diploma and foundation students.
Meanwhile, Wan Azhar said 600 students have registered online for the new intake to pursue diploma courses in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Computer Science and Occupational Safety and Health.
He said the registration date has been extended until tomorrow (Aug 6) to allow potential students who have been facing issues with the online registration to complete the process.
Also present during the virtual ADAB@UMP launch was UMP's deputy vice-chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Profesor Datuk Dr Yuserrie Zainuddin and UMP Student Representative Council president Muhammad Hisyamuddin Abdul Aziz.
The ADAB@UMP app can be downloaded from both the Google PlayStore and the Apple App store. - NST
