Uksb Ledger Umno Youth Leader Cries Selective Prosecution Moots Panel To Probe
An Umno Youth leader has mooted the formation of an independent committee to probe new developments revealed in court during Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's ongoing Foreign Visa System corruption trial.
Specifically, Negeri Sembilan Umno Youth chief Mohd Zaidy Abdul Kadir (above) said charges should be brought against a list of politicians accused of allegedly receiving political donations from Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd (UKSB) based on testimonies by trial witnesses.
"Don't let it be because the Umno president is the political enemy of certain parties, he's treated in that manner.
"Is that the justice we want?" Zaidy said in a statement.
"They try to create a public perception that only the Umno president is the worst and most corrupt.
"It is very clear that this selective prosecution is carried out just to kill off his (Zahid)'s credibility," claimed Zaidy.
UKSB former administrative manager David Tan, in his ongoing testimony at the Kuala Lumpur High Court, had cited a list of politicians said to have also received political donations from the company, based on records kept in a secret ledger with various code names.
The MACC had released a statement shortly after the names in the ledger were revealed, saying they will open investigations into the matter.
The individuals named or implicated, including former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, former transport minister Chan Kong Choy, Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, Warisan president Shafie Apdal and BN information chief Shahril Hamdan, had separately denied receiving any money from UKSB. - Mkini
