Uksb Dr M S Nephew Has Opened Can Of Worms Umno Man
Revelations by former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad's nephew over his past role in Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd (UKSB) have raised more questions on possible impropriety.
In a statement today, Umno supreme council member Razlan Rafii said Rahmat Abu Bakar's admission that he once had a RM1.3 million salary from UKSB aroused suspicion.
"Did he possess the ability to earn hundreds of millions for the company... or was it because he was the nephew to the seventh prime minister?"
"What did Rahmat promise UKSB in return for RM1.3 million a month? Perhaps his job was to influence the prime minister into continuing the existing contract,” Razlan claimed.
UKSB is at the heart of a trial against Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The company was alleged to have bribed Zahid between 2014 and 2018 for a lucrative government contract.

Mahathir's alleged relationship with UKSB surfaced during Zahid’s trial.
One of the firm's former top managers alleged that Mahathir had received RM2.6 million from UKSB through Rahmat, who was referred to as "Kedahan" in one of the company's ledgers.
Mahathir has denied the allegation.
So far, the trial has heard that UKSB paid 10 top politicians, apart from Zahid, according to records in the company's ledger.
Rahmat claimed that he cut ties with UKSB on Nov 14, 2018, on the advice of then Centre for Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption chairperson Abu Kassim Mohamed.
Rahmat also claimed he returned all the money received from UKSB. - Mkini
