Those Returning To Kelantan From Klang Valley Should Undergo Home Quarantine

The Kelantan state health department (JKNK) has advised those who stay in areas under the conditional movement control order (MCO) to undergo home quarantine if they were to return to Kelantan.
The state health department director Dr Zaini Hussin said many people may want to leave Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya before the conditional MCO comes into effect at 12.01am on Oct 14.
A lot of them may be heading back to Kelantan after that, he said.
“With regard to that, the JKNK is asking those who will have family members returning from the Klang Valley to advise them to undergo home quarantine for 14 days before mixing with the other family members.
“If they can prepare a homestay and so on, that would be very good. If they are forced to stay in the same house, isolate them in a separate room with an attached bathroom. Food and drinks should be sent to that room,” he said in a statement in Kota Bharu today.
Zaini also said those who have returned from high-risk areas are also advised not to leave the room throughout the quarantine period.
“If they need to leave the room, make sure they wear face masks and practice physical distancing of at least one metre from the other family members.
“In those 14 days, they are not allowed to visit other family members, go to shopping malls, to the mosques or to restaurants.
“They are encouraged to buy their food online through FoodPanda or GrabFood and pay using online banking,” he said.
More importantly, he stressed, if any of them starts showing symptoms, they must be brought to the nearest health clinic to be screened.
The JKNK will screen all those showing symptoms who have just returned from high-risk areas within the last 14 days.
“If you have any symptoms after coming into contact with them, you need to go to a health facility for further checks. If you or your family members need to be screened, do not worry because the process is painless and safe.
“Even though we cannot stop our relatives from returning from the Klang Valley, we can take steps to prevent the risk of spreading Covid-19 to our beloved family members in Kelantan.
“We are sure that everyone does not want to be responsible for spreading the virus to their friends, families and the surrounding community.

“The JKNK is ready to help in terms of advice, treatment and providing information related to Covid-19. Let us work together to break the Covid-19 chain of transmission in Kelantan. Prevention is better than cure,” he said. - Mkini
