The Chinese Resentment Of The Agong And His Brother Rulers
And that is why most Chinese in particular, and non-Malays in general, hate the monarchy and wish for Malaysia to be turned into a republic. As long as Malaysia has the Raja-Raja Melayu, Ketuanan Melayu shall exist. And the Chinese hate Ketuanan Melayu, which they mischievously call apartheid.
NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
There appears to be a deep resentment on anything representing the Malays. This includes the Raja-Raja Melayu or monarchy, Bahasa Malaysia or the National Language, Islam, the Sharia laws, RUU355, Hudud, the tudung, the five times a day azan or call for prayer at the mosques, etc.
They also resent the term ‘Bumiputera’ and argue that the Orang Asli are the real Bumiputera while the Malays are ‘pendatang’ just like the Chinese, Indians and ‘others’.
In this video, the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Al-Maghfur-Lah, explains the role of the Raja-Raja Melayu.
Basically, Malaysia is to be called Persekutuan Tanah Melayu. Not less than 50% of all the land in Malaysia is to be reserved for the Malays and the balance can be shared with the other races. In the East Coast states it is more than 90% while in the other states it is more than 50%.
A special regiment called the Rejimen Askar Melayu DiRaja (RAMD) shall be set up to defend the country against internal and external threats and enemies. The Raja-Raja Melayu will rule in perpetuality while Islam will be the religion of the Federation and Bahasa Melayu will be the National Language.
The Raja-Raja Melayu will guarantee all this and will ensure that the special position of the Malays, Islam as the religion of the Federation, and Bahasa Melayu as the National Language, will be protected.
Ku Li explained in 1988 that the nine monarchs are the defenders of the special position of the Malays, Islam and Bahasa Melayu
Now, this was explained by Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah more than 30 years ago in 1988. The Raja-Raja Melayu are the defenders and trustees of the special position of the Malays, Islam and Bahasa Melayu. No one, not even Parliament, can touch the special position of the Malays, Islam or Bahasa Melayu, even if they have more than two-thirds majority in Parliament.
In short, while Malaysia may be a parliamentary democracy, there are certain things which are above even Parliament. And some of these things are the special position of the Malays, Islam and Bahasa Melayu. No one can touch these because all these come under the protection of the Raja-Raja Melayu. And the Rulers have the Rejimen Askar Melayu DiRaja to ensure that no one ‘tries to be funny’.
Rejimen Askar Melayu DiRaja (RAMD) comes under the command of the Raja-Raja Melayu
Chinese do not seem to understand this (read June Wong’s The Thing About Royalty…). Most non-Malays, and even many Malays themselves, do not understand the role of the monarchy and what use they are in today’s ‘modern world’.
The government can change and the country can come under the control of the Chinese. But there are certain things the Chinese cannot touch, even if they control more than two-thirds of Parliament. And these things are those that come under the protection of the Raja-Raja Melayu.
The Raja-Raja Melayu are the gatekeepers. They jaga the special position of the Malays, Islam and Bahasa Melayu. And the Raja-Raja Melayu have the entire armed forces behind them.
The Raja-Raja Melayu are the gatekeepers to Ketuanan Melayu
The loyalty of Parliament is to the people (who voted them in). The loyalty of the police is to the government of the day (they serve any politician who happens to be in power). The loyalty of the armed forces is to their commander. And all the nine monarchs of Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Perak, Kedah and Perlis are commanders of the various branches of the armed forces, while the Agong is the Supreme Commander of the armed forces.
Federal Constiution of Malaysia: Supreme command of armed forces
Article 41. The Yang di-Pertuan Agong shall be the Supreme Commander of the armed forces of the Federation.
DAP wants the Rejimen Askar Melayu DiRaja to be abolished for obvious reasons
So, you see, as long as the monarchy exists, the special position of the Malays, Malay reservation land, Islam, Bahasa Melayu, control of the armed forces, etc., can’t be touched. You first need to abolish the monarchy to touch these ‘sacred cows’.
