Teresa In Line With Madani Values End Indira Gandhi S Ordeal
DAP lawmaker Teresa Kok has called on the police and government to take a firm, principled stand - in line with Madani values - to deliver justice to M Indira Gandhi and reunite her with her long-missing daughter, Prasana Diksa.
She said the latest revelation that Indira’s former husband, Muslim convert Riduan Abdullah, may still be in Malaysia raises troubling questions about the authorities’ inaction.
“What actions have been taken - and will be taken - by the police and the Home Ministry in light of this new discovery?” Kok (above) asked in a statement today.
The Seputeh MP urged Inspector-General of Police Khalid Ismail to act decisively to locate and return Prasana to her mother.
“With today’s advanced technology and new evidence suggesting that Riduan is still in Malaysia, I am confident the police can trace his whereabouts and bring Prasana home,” she said.
Kok stressed that the issue transcends race and religion, describing it as a test of Malaysia’s humanity and its commitment to the rule of law.
“Indira has made it clear she has no intention of changing her daughter’s religion. She accepts that Prasana is now a Muslim,” she said.
‘Suffered too long’
Kok warned that selective justice based on race and religion undermines faith in the nation’s institutions.
“When the highest court’s decision can be ignored without consequence, public confidence in the justice system will inevitably collapse,” she said.
Calling for immediate action, the former minister said Indira’s suffering has dragged on for far too long.

M Indira Gandhi“For years, a mother has endured unimaginable pain - pain that should never exist in a nation that claims to uphold justice and compassion,” Kok stressed.
Kok later raised the matter during Women, Family and Community and Community Development Minister Nancy Shukri’s Budget 2026 winding-up speech in the Dewan Rakyat.
In response to Kok, who sought her views on Indira’s plight, Nancy expressed her sympathy and said, “InsyaAllah, on my part, I will attempt to assist.”
“I will discuss with the police to find out the real story on how they (police) can help to locate and reunite the child with her family - either through mediation or other means necessary,” she said.
“I have requested my officer to seek further information so we can find ways to assist. That is what I can stress today,” she added.
Ex-spouse getting Budi95, Sara
Last week, the Indira Gandhi Action Team (Ingat) and Agamam Ani Malaysia, led by social activist Arun Dorasamy, announced plans to lodge a report with the MACC and to organise a march to Bukit Aman, alleging continued police inaction in locating Prasana.
A social media post on Riduan reignited scrutiny over the police and Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) handling of the case by alleging that Riduan remains in Malaysia, and has been benefiting from government assistance such as Budi95 and the Rahmah Necessities Aid (Sara).
Checks by Malaysiakini on the Budi95 and Sara platforms, using the IC number linked to Riduan, found that the account had fully utilised the one-off RM100 Sara cash aid and nearly 100 litres from the 300-litre Budi95 fuel subsidy quota.
A check on the Immigration Department’s travel status portal using the same IC number also showed “no restrictions” on his ability to travel abroad. - Mkini
