Tekun Targeted Ron95 Subsidy Eases Burden On B40 And M40 Businesses

TEKUN Nasional chairman Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid has lauded the government’s Budi Madani targeted fuel subsidy for RON95, calling it a timely measure to ease the burden of small and medium entrepreneurs, particularly those in the B40 and M40 groups.
“These small entrepreneurs use their own vehicles to go to markets, buy goods, and manage daily business matters. With a limit of 300 liters per month, it is sufficient for medium-sized cars with engines between 1.5 to 2.0 liters,” he said.
According to him, the market price of petrol is now around RM2.60 per liter, but with the Budi Madani initiative, the people can enjoy lower prices that are targeted at genuine users.
“If it is large enterprises, they use hundreds of thousands of liters and are certainly not eligible. But for individuals and small businesses, this subsidy is very helpful,” he added.
“In fact, the view that this program can be abused is uncivilised and not proactive,” Abdullah told Suara Keadilan.
With market fuel prices at about RM2.60 per litre, the program ensures genuine users enjoy lower costs while excluding large enterprises that consume fuel in bulk.
Abdullah dismissed claims that the subsidy could be misused, describing such views as uncivilised and unproductive.
He claims the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to prioritising the people’s welfare, reducing living costs, and supporting the competitiveness of small entrepreneurs.
He also noted that savings from the targeted subsidy could be redirected to vital sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and public facilities. — Focus Malaysia
