Stop The Bleeding At Pos Malaysia Mcmc
TO ALL Malaysians, let me tell you that Pos Malaysia is bleeding. It is our company, we've been using its services for years now, without which will make life difficult for everybody.
Nothing was done to really help and find remedy to its predicament. Under previous or current government, Pos Malaysia has been made a lousy political outlet by some people in Putrajaya and MCMC, the regulatory body where Pos Malaysia is suppose to seek some solaces.
Someone is seeking personal glory. He or she could be with the MCMC or the government since Pos Malaysia plights were taken lightly, not like the fantastic response given to proposals and ideas put forward by telecommunication companies (telcos) and others.
When Pos Malaysia should get similar attention, that someone is shying away from it but embraces any engagement with Telcos, the 'gold mine' of MCMC and the government.
Perhaps the only consolation it got came from minister Gobind and his few aides. My previous posting was about the dire need for Pos Malaysia be fully-liberated from the uncompromising regime at the MCMC. The government should release Pos Malaysia from the dictation of a regulatory body that only cares making money and choosing priority.
Thank you to Gobind and the 'caring society' n Putrajaya. He could have read my posting. hence opening doors for suggestion by Pos Malaysia, notably in revising upwards the service tariff which saw saturation since almost a decade.
To the minister, perhaps he should consider revamping the top management of the MCMC. I am not accusing but suspect that some people are 'on the take' because the amount of attention given to other entities apart from the ailing Pos Malaysia.
He has the answer. After all, isn't Pos Malaysia was one of the government's revenue-earner over the last 5 decades if we want to compare it with the Telcos and other companies? So, where is our gratitude to them? By seeing their 'demise'?
Maybe MCMC failed to recognise the importance of Pos Malaysia and place it along other postal companies around the world, if not in the region, who made tonnes of money every year. And maybe they do not need the postmen services since they found comfort in using dispatch companies they themselves licensed!
And how many local and foreign postal entities have they licensed? Why? What is Pos Malaysia to them? Pos Malaysia is often turned into a punching bag when MCMC received one or two complaints about late delivery or over lost parcel.
But they never considered the task Pos Malaysia has to bear in locating the right address and right addressee. It incurred extra cost when their postmen and delivery trucks got stuck between unscrupulous complainants and the authorities.
Please don't turn Pos Malaysia as your political vehicle. When you agree to its privatisation, you must also agree that it has every rights to be self-managed and self-regulated. Only then can you see its management embark on all positive planning to keep it running on the black.
Pos Malaysia deserves to be administered like Tenaga Nasional, Proton and others. Let it run as a formidable postal and delivery company matching the might of UPS and Federal Express. However, they do not enjoy the similar higher rates imposed by the two postal giants. Because why? The heart and mind of the people at the MCMC stop beating for them!
I don't comprehend this. Why is it so difficult for the government to give the green light for Pos Malaysia to hike its service tariff, at least to match similar companies in the region? Why dragging your feet over the plight of Pos Malaysia to enhance its services on the back of a handsome profit?
Don't you want it to be profitable? Or you already have plans to turn it into your charitable organisation!
What will happen to Pos Malaysia's 30,000 staff nationwide and their families should a calamity situation befalls the company?
MCMC is not a place for someone to seek personal glory. The responsibility is big, man! You are not into 'Maharaja Lawak' or 'Malaysia Got Talent' shows but at a regulatory institution entrusted with giving assistance to the entities under your stable.
Heal the bleeding at Pos Malaysia. They don't ask much for they just want a competent and competitive outlook. How to feed or even give a pay rise to the employees if it goes on like this for the coming years.
The MCMC, of course, will not close shop because its at the government's armpit. However, Pos Malaysia must move on for the benefit of Malaysians and some countries. Will you deliver a single letter or parcel to Kalabakan or Long Pasia? Will other delivery companies you appointed do it?
