Shahidan Normal For Opposition To Desire Returning To Power

Perikatan Nasional (PN) leader Shahidan Kassim insists that, as the opposition, it is normal for the coalition to want to return to power.
He said that PN was confident it could be a better government compared to the current administration.
However, Shahidan (above) denied that there were plans underway to topple the current administration. 
“We (PN) intend to become the government and are capable of becoming a good government. I believe that if we become the government, we could do better (than the current administration). 
“Are we wrong to say that? If we have the intention and ambition to change governments, it may become a reality in the near future, or whenever,” he said after officiating Kota Bharu PAS 56th Annual General Meeting in Kota Bharu, Kelantan today.
He said this when asked about criticisms against PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, who recently remarked that Anwar Ibrahim’s government will collapse soon. 
Shahidan, who is Arau MP, said it was normal to topple governments, claiming that even government parties had ambitions to take over PN-led Kelantan, Kedah, and Perlis in the upcoming state elections.
He questioned the need to investigate the claims, calling on the government to instead investigate the reasons behind the rising cost of goods.
“Our country is quite peaceful and there is no movement or plan to topple the government, but I have ambitions to become the government,” he said. 
Hadi is reportedly being investigated by the police after Amanah and PKR’s youth wings lodged a report against him at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters. 
This came after the Marang MP’s prediction that Anwar’s government will collapse soon. Hadi did not divulge details.
However, he later defended his remark, stating that plotting to topple the government is allowed in a democratic country and the opposition has the right to make such plans. - Mkini
