Sg Buloh Hospital To Redirect Non Covid 19 Patients To Other Facilities
CORONAVIRUS | The Health Ministry is ramping up its preparation to receive more Covid-19 cases with the Sungai Buloh Hospital being the first to scale down on other services
Sources told Malaysiakini that the hospital has started to close down a number of its wards in stages to make room for the isolation and treatment of Covid-19 patients
This was confirmed by Health Department director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah when contacted this evening
"We are focusing on Covid-19 patients and scaling down on other services
"Most (of the wards' patients) will be relocated to other hospitals in Selangor," said a source
It is learned that all wards on the four floors at the hospital have been designated for this purpose
Among the facilities that have been closed temporarily include the hospital's coronary care unit (CCU)
"(Patients at) wards on floor four to seven have been redistributed to other hospitals in stages. It's now ready for Covid-19 patients," a source said
Another source at a hospital in the Klang Valley told Malaysiakini that they have been receiving requests to admit patients transferred from the Sungai Buloh Hospital since yesterday
Noor Hisham in confirming this said that they are preparing the Sungai Buloh Hospital as infectious disease facility to focus on Covid-19
"Yes, Hospital Sungai Buloh as we want to prepare the hospital to be an infectious diseases hospital
"We will scale up Covid-19 preparations (at this hospital) and then we will scale down other services to (be handled by) other hospitals," he said in a text message. - Mkini
