Seputeh Dap Youth Reveals 2 Party Members Under Macc Probe
Seputeh DAP Youth has revealed an ongoing MACC investigation against two party members, believed to be in connection with alleged abuse of constituency funds approved for purchase of school equipment.
Seputeh DAP Youth chief Joel Jalleh in a statement also revealed that one of the two who were arrested was being remanded.
“We urge the authorities to conduct their investigations fairly and free from any political influence.
“We also call upon all party members and supporters to remain steadfast and united in the face of such challenges,” he said, in rallying solidarity for the duo.
Malaysiakini has contacted MACC for confirmation and is withholding the names of the two individuals.
Separately, Seputeh MP Teresa Kok in a statement revealed that the two arrested were her former staff - a senior citizen in her 70s, and the other, a candidate in the upcoming DAP party election.

Seputeh MP Teresa KokShe also referred to her speech in Parliament on Nov 14 that raised concerns about the rationale behind the Federal Territory Education Department’s request for and provision of smartboards.
Among others, Kok during a Special Chambers sitting with Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh, said she had received many requests for smartboards from schools in her constituency.
She also asked about the exact specifications for a brand recommended by the state Education Department, as well as cost comparisons to purchase the smartboards.
“However, this morning (March 6), I was stunned to learn that two of my former staff members have been summoned by the MACC to provide statements in Putrajaya, apparently in relation to the contents of my parliamentary speech.
“It is critical to underscore that my speech was not an attack on any individual or department but a call for transparency regarding the disparity in the procurement of smartboards by the Federal Territory Education Department.
“I have no knowledge or involvement in the reasons behind the MACC’s decision (to remand) and it is completely outside of my control,” she stressed.
Kok also alluded to personal attacks against her from within the party, in reaction to MACC’s action against the duo.
“The decisions and actions of the MACC are theirs alone to make, and no one, including myself, has any power or influence over them.
“Therefore, I strongly urge all parties to refrain from engaging in baseless speculation or making unfounded accusations at this time,” she stressed. - Mkini
