Send Responsible Party To Cops Over Flag Gaffe Pkr Man Tells T Ganu Pas
A PKR leader has urged Terengganu PAS to deliver the individual who recently made a blunder on the national flag in a party poster to the police.
ADSPKR deputy information chief Chua Wei Kiat said the PAS leadership should not be making noise when others make mistakes, while keeping mum when their own makes the same error.
“We still remember how PAS Youth used strong words when Sin Chew Daily made a mistake when publishing the Jalur Gemilang.
“They sought a harsh punishment and even said an apology would not cut it. PAS even played on racial sentiments.
“But now, when Terengganu PAS made the same error by publishing an erroneous flag, they just apologised and kept quiet about it as if the people had forgotten about it.
“If they are truly patriotic as they claim to be, I challenge them to surrender the responsible individual to the police for an investigation.
“Don’t act courageous when others do it, but go quiet when it happens to you,” he said in a statement.
PAS’ flag gaffe
On May 12, Terengganu PAS issued an apology after it was pointed out that the Jalur Gemilang used by the party had only 11 points on its star and 12 red and white stripes.

Deeming the matter a “technical error”, Terengganu PAS then uploaded a corrected logo with a 14-point star and 14 alternating stripes.
However, several Pakatan Harapan leaders, past and present, admonished PAS and reminded the Islamist party of its members’ harsh reaction when others made the same error.
Former Selangor executive councillor Teng Chang Khim even described PAS as a “traitor” and should have its “citizenship revoked”.
‘Stop the hypocrisy’
ADSChua then reminded all quarters that the Jalur Gemilang belongs to all Malaysians, regardless of their political affiliations.
However, the Rawang assemblyperson said it was clear some are misusing patriotism for their political mileage and fanning racial and religious sentiments.
“This is not only hypocritical but detrimental to our national unity.
“Malaysia needs a just, fair, and mature political system. So, enough of this charade. The people are getting tired of it,” he added.

The incident is the latest in a series of mistakes involving the national flag, which has affected Sin Chew Daily, an electronic billboard in Bukit Bintang, an exhibitor at a baby products expo, and the Education Ministry.
Previously, in the wake of the Education Ministry’s mistake in publishing the defective Jalur Gemilang in its SPM Analysis Report, Teng had taken a jab at the government, along with certain “patriots” and their high-handed response to Sin Chew Daily’s gaffe.
Based on sources, including a ministry insider, Malaysiakini reported that several officers from the ministry’s examination board were transferred days after the publication of the inaccurate images generated by artificial intelligence. - Mkini
