Selangor Mb S Office Denies Allegations About Pkr Leader S Posts Wealth
The Selangor government has denied allegations that a PKR leader in northern Selangor had accrued “sudden wealth” through appointments to state government-linked positions.
The Menteri Besar’s Office said the allegations, made anonymously through WhatsApp, were “malicious” and “politically motivated”.
“The unwarranted allegations made on WhatsApp while the menteri besar was tabling the Selangor Budget 2026 in the state assembly are slanderous, misleading, and made without a factual basis,” it said in a statement today.
The implicated individual will be lodging a report with the authorities as a form of accountability, it added.
It also stressed that Selangor leaders should focus on developing the state, instead of engaging in “immature politics” built on “malicious, wild, and false perceptions”.
Yesterday, a WhatsApp group named “MB Selangor” comprising several assemblypersons was created to share a series of allegations against the PKR leader with reported close links to Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.
The WhatsApp group, run by an anonymous administrator only known as “Madani”, questioned how the leader could afford a RM3 million bungalow and sustain a luxurious lifestyle, including overseas holidays and stays at five- to seven-star hotels.
‘Too many positions’
There were also allegations that the leader holds too many positions in state-linked agencies.
Further, a lengthy message directed at Amirudin was shared in the group, urging the menteri besar to explain “truthfully and fairly” the lifestyle and positions of the leader concerned.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin ShariThe group administrator challenged the leader to lodge a police report so that the purported evidence could be revealed.
At least one Malaysiakini reporter was added to the WhatsApp group.
When contacted yesterday, the leader in question declined to comment, claiming he had not seen the contents of the chat group.
Malaysiakini is withholding the leader’s identity as the allegations cannot be independently verified. - Mkini
