Sekijang Mp Lodges Report Over Alleged Offer To Switch Side
Sekijang MP Natrah Ismail today lodged a report with the MACC over an alleged effort to poach her to support Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
In a statement today, she urged the graft buster to probe the matter as soon as possible.
"I lodged a report with the MACC regarding an attempt to secure my support for Muhyiddin, with promises of benefits that I can garner," she said.
"The incident happened on March 3 and it involved two individuals, including one with a 'Datuk Seri' title.
"I reiterate that I am not interested in supporting Muhyiddin and I will not betray PKR, and most importantly, the voters in Sekijang," said the PKR MP.
Yesterday, Natrah claimed that the two individuals met her and persuaded her to switch her support for Muhyiddin.
Her statement followed another round of defections from opposition elected representatives to the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.
Meanwhile, MACC in a statement confirmed the meeting with Natrah at its Segamat branch in Johor.
"The MACC will proceed with the investigation into the issue and a number of witnesses will be called soon, including to record Natrah's statement," it said.
However, it added the allegation by a Facebook page called "Ops Johor" that Natrah was offered RM10 million was untrue.
The MACC said it confirmed the matter with Natrah.
PKR parliamentarians Larry Sng and Steven Choong had switched sides to PN last week, pledging their support for Muhyiddin as independent MPs.
Sebatik assemblyperson Hassan A Gani Pg Amir also defected from Warisan to Gabungan Rakyat Sabah – a coalition that also comprises PN alongside BN and Parti Bersatu Sabah. - Mkini
