Security Guard Arrested For Allegedly Molesting Man In Toilet

The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force on a person with intent to outrage modesty - NST FILE PICALOR GAJAH: Police arrested a security guard today to assist in the investigation of an alleged sexual assault on a male patient in the restroom of a dental clinic here last week.
Melaka acting police chief Datuk Md Nazri Zawawi said the 19-year-old suspect was arrested at 12.05pm in front of the clinic.
He said the arrest was carried out by officers from the D11 Division (Sexual Investigation, Women, and Children) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Melaka contingent police headquarters, following a report lodged by the victim.
In the incident on Jan 28, the complainant, a 19-year-old private university student, had just completed treatment at the clinic.
"The victim said he asked a security guard for directions to a public restroom, and the suspect pointed him to its location.
"While in the restroom, he noticed the suspect seemingly peeking at him before knocking on the door and instructing him to switch on the light," he said in a statement today.
As the victim opened the door to reach for the light switch, the suspect attempted to enter the cubicle by pushing the door and grabbing his private parts.
"Shocked and frightened, the complainant immediately pushed the suspect away, shut the door, and only exited after the suspect had left the toilet.
"He then reported the incident at the clinic's complaint counter and later at the police station," he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force on a person with intent to outrage modesty.
Md Nazri said the suspect will be remanded tomorrow at the Alor Gajah magistrate's court.
"An initial urine screening found the suspect negative for drugs," he added. - NST
