Schoolgirl Who Died Was Healthy After Jab Says Health Dept

(Puan Zarkashi Facebook pic)PETALING JAYA: A teenager said to have died after getting a first Covid-19 vaccination had been healthy after being administered the dose, says Johor health director Dr Aman Rabu.
Responding to a Facebook post by Umno Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi, he said 14-year-old Noor Hayati Nabila Abdullah was given her first dose of the Pfizer jab on Oct 3.
He said the hospital received a request for an autopsy from the Batu Pahat district police after the girl was found dead in the living room by her mother on Oct 8.
The body was taken to Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail in Batu Pahat for a post-mortem examination. The forensic medical officer who conducted the post-mortem found that Hayati did not have a history of illnesses or allergies, Aman said.
She was also said to be in “good condition” after getting vaccinated and did not suffer from any fever, flu, joint aches or breathing difficulties.
“She was able to conduct her daily activities normally,” Aman said in a statement today.
He said the autopsy found a growth on her ovaries and an anomaly in her heart’s structure. Tissue samples from her body have been sent to forensic pathology experts at Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Johor Bahru.
“Further test results are expected to be obtained between Oct 24 and Oct 28. Various blood tests have been sent to the laboratory and are awaiting results.
“The autopsy report has been categorised as incomplete because test results have yet to be received. A complete autopsy report is needed to ascertain her cause of death.
“However, the department takes note of the matter which has gone viral,” he said.
Puad had posted a picture of himself when visiting the family of Hayati, whom he said “had died after receiving her first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine”.
The Umno man had also urged the health ministry to be transparent and release the post-mortem results quickly. - FMT
