Sarawak Report Medical Letters On Pm Identical Not From Relevant Specialists

Sarawak Report responded to the documents declaring that Prime Minister Muhyddin Yassin does not have cancer and is fit to lead the nation, questioning the identical wording from two different hospitals
The website also said the letters were signed by medical practitioners who did not specialise in the treatment of pancreatic cancer
Referring to documents released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) earlier today, Sarawak Report said: "Today two separate teams of doctors employed by Muhyiddin in KL, one from the Pantai Hospital and one from the Ampit Chest and Medical Clinic Sdn Bhd, have been presented as having signed off two identical three-paragraph letters ending with a thundering attack on the media who have expressed concern over the health of ‘PM8′ who is a pancreatic cancer patient.”Sarawak Report quoted the doctors as saying: “We are of the opinion that YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is fit to serve the people and the nation. As medical professionals we are appalled at the false reporting that has no basis.”The website highlighted these "identical letters dated June 12, one signed by Dr Lam Kai Seng on behalf of his ‘team’ at the Pantai and the other by Dr (K) Ampikaipakan on behalf of his ‘team’ at the Ampit."Sarawak Report then questioned if the pair who signed the letters were the same doctors who treated Muhyiddin and claimed they were referring to third party experts
"These KL doctors are not the ones primarily treating ‘PM8′ for his pancreatic cancer
"The doctors at Pantai and Ampit both refer in their identical accounts to third party ‘experts in pancreatic cancer’ who have, according to the letter, said that Muhyiddin is clear of cancer, making plain that they themselves are not the experts being referred to,” it added
The website pointed out that Dr Ampikaipakan is a specialist in respiratory medicine and the diagnosis of lung cancer
It added that Dr Lam was a specialist in head and neck cancer and other cancer conditions, but is not cited as a specialist in the treatment of pancreatic cancer
In its statement, the PMO denied the claim by Sarawak Report that Muhyiddin had breached home quarantine last month to seek cancer treatment in Singapore
It stressed that Muhyiddin had observed the full 14-day quarantine after coming into contact with a Covid-19 patient and did not leave his house during the period
The PMO said the website should be “held accountable” for the claims but stopped short of mentioning if any legal action would be taken
