Sarawak 24 Hour Restaurants Get The Go Ahead To Reopen
The Sarawak disaster management committee has announced that 24-hour restaurants, houses of worship, tourism and the arts can begin to reopen from Wednesday.KUCHING: Sarawak has decided to allow all outlets and fast food restaurants offering 24-hour services to resume operations with immediate effect
However, state disaster management committee chairman Douglas Uggah Embas said all non-Muslim houses of worship would be allowed to resume services and activitie from Saturday (June 20)
The committee had also approved procedures drawn up by the Sarawak Islamic Department for the marriage solemnisation throughout the recovery movement control order period
Kindergartens are also allowed to operate starting July 1
Tourism activities will be allowed to resume from Wednesday, tourism minister Abdul Karin Rahman Hamzah said. These included tour operators, tour guides, homestays, hotels, adventure and extreme tourism, scuba diving and snorkelling, and dry theme parks
However, meeting rooms or conference halls are limited to half-capacity
Museums, galleries, archive, handicraft centres and memorials can be opened to public from Wednesday. The creative arts could also resume production activities for music, filming, videography, photography, graphic design and animation
All music, dance, theatre schools and photography studios are also allowed to resume from Wednesday
Parks will be reopened from Wednesday. Among them were Kubah National Park, Gunung Gading National Park, Tanjung Datu National Park, Santubong National Park, Talang-Satang National Park, Wind/Fairy Cave National Park, Batang Ai National Park, Samajaya National Park, Maludam National Park, Gunung Mulu National Park, Lambir National Park, Niah National Park, Loagan Bunut National Park and Pulong Tau National Park
Other national parks which are to be opened on June 22 are Bako National Park, Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, Kuching Wetland National Park and Miri-Sibuti Coral Reef National Park. - FMT
