Sabah Scandal Warisan Opens Fire On Dap Tells Arifin To Quit
Warisan has opened fire on DAP and urged Sabah Governor Musa Aman's son-in-law Arifin Arif to resign over the corruption scandal in Sabah.
Warisan Youth chief Terence Au asked what DAP has done for the state amid the party’s silence over the ongoing controversy, which has implicated several assemblypersons.
"Where are today’s DAP leaders when Sabah continues to make the headlines, stained with corruption scandals and even facing development challenges, particularly for integrity, transparency, justice, and accountability?
"It seems like the party that once stood for the pillars of transparency, justice, and accountability now turns a blind eye when these very issues plague our people.
"They have remained silent when fighting for the rights of Sabahans; perhaps the fight for integrity, transparency, justice, and accountability is not worth their action," Au (above) said in a statement today.
This was in response to Sarawak DAP chairperson Chong Chieng Jen, who reportedly urged state Premier Abang Johari Openg to clarify claims that the state had agreed to surrender its oil and gas rights to the federal government.

Sarawak DAP chairperson Chong Chieng JenAccording to Dayak Daily, Abang Johari's chief political secretary Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman criticised Chong’s move, saying that he should have directed his question at the relevant minister.
Fazzrudin went on to ask what Chong and DAP had done for Sarawak, accusing both of being more interested in scoring political points than solving issues.
Preserve Sabah govt’s good name
In demanding Arifin's immediate resignation as the Sabah minister of science, technology, and innovation, Warisan Women said this is to preserve the state government's good name.

Sabah Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Arifin Arif"This corruption scandal has reached a very serious level and has sparked various speculations from all walks of life in Sabah," its chief Norfaizah Chua said in a statement today.
Last week, the whistleblower, who exposed a series of videos implicating Sabah assemblypersons in a corruption scandal, claimed that Arifin had offered him a settlement.
Arifin allegedly offered the whistleblower the reinstatement of his revoked mineral exploration licences in exchange for issuing a public statement declaring that the funds were political donations.
After Malaysiakini reported the alleged settlement, Arifin lodged a police report against the news portal, claiming that he had been slandered. - Mkini
