Russia Sells S400 Air Defense System To China India Can Shoot Down F35 Stealth Planes

Here is a bit of defense news. This is a You Tube video. Russia is selling its state of the art  S400 missile system to China and India. Qatar is also negotiating purchasing the missiles.

This Russian system is the most advanced air defense system in the world [in its class] and no country - including the US or Israel - has any counter measures that can defeat this air defense system.  These missiles can catch targets with  a top speed  of 11,000 mph or Mach 14.   The S400 missile system is indeed a game changer.  The Russians also have a more advanced S500 which they are not selling to anyone yet.

The S-400 was described by The Economist in 2017 as "one of the best air-defence systems currently made". The S-400 uses four missiles to fill its performance envelope: the very-long-range 40N6 (400 km), the long-range 48N6 (250 km), the medium-range 9M96E2 (120 km) and the short-range 9M96E (40 km). 

What is of  particular interest is that this system can detect and shoot down Stealth aircraft like the latest US made F35 stealth planes.





Will the S400 Make The F35 A Flying Duck?


Here is something that may be of relevance to us and South East Asia. Singapore is buying the F35 'Stealth' Planes.  Here is Bloomberg :

My comments : The Stealth fighter makes things more complicated because it can penetrate foreign airspace without being detected by most radar.
Except of course the radar that comes with the Russian S400 Air Defense System 
India and China buying the S400 system significantly raises the threat level against ALL American aircraft flying in their areas.  Qatar is also negotiating to purchase the same system - which will effectively put a full stop to any possible adventurism against Qatar by the Saudi airforce. 

The per unit cost of this system is US$400 million [RM 1.6 billion] per fire unit (artillery battalion) that consists of 8 launchers, 112 missiles, command and support vehicles.  


In contrast a single F35 'Stealth' fighter costs US85 million or RM350 million.

Maybe we should buy this Russian S400 Air Defense System. 

The US will attack our Ringgit and make another attempt at 'regime change'.
