Rtd To Enforce Rush Hour Heavy Vehicle Ban In Kl
The Road Transport Department (RTD) said it will enforce laws banning heavy vehicles exceeding 7,500kg from using several arterial roads in Kuala Lumpur during rush hours.
In a statement, the RTD urged all transport companies and heavy vehicle drivers to stay off certain roads (listed below) between 6.30am and 9.30am as well as between 4.30pm and 7.30pm.
Signs will be erected at roads subjected to this rule, said the RTD.
The affected roads are gazetted under the first schedule of the Road Transport (Slow Moving Vehicles) (Prohibition on Use of Road) (City of Kuala Lumpur) Order 1994.
Violations can result in a fine of RM300 under Sub-section 79(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987. If the matter is brought to court, the maximum fine is RM2,000.
