Puad Slams Nazri For Using Obscene Language Against Najib
Puad Zarkashi (left) questioned Nazri Aziz’s record, pointing out that the latter had made conflicting remarks regarding the support of MPs towards the prime minister.PETALING JAYA: Umno Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi has hit out at the “obscene” language used by his party mate, Nazri Aziz, in his sharp rebuke of former prime minister Najib Razak.
Also joining the chorus of Nazri-bashing was Machang MP Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, who called him a “flip-flop” with regard to the change in his position towards Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and the government.
Recently, on social media, Najib had expressed scepticism about deputy prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s claims that 31 Barisan Nasional MPs supported Muhyiddin, pointing out that it had been earlier claimed that 40 of the coalition’s MPs had agreed to back the government.
“So, does the PM8 (Muhyiddin) still have majority support if the 40 has dropped to 21 or 31?”
Machang MP Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub. This sparked a tirade from Nazri whereby he called Najib a “b……” and a “liar” when speaking to The Vibes, insisting that Najib was among the 40 MPs present at the meeting.
In a Facebook post, Puad took Nazri to task for his “extreme” language and sarcastically suggested that the Padang Rengas MP needed to take some time off.
“Maybe Nazri should think about going abroad,” he began.
“But tell his wife, don’t post fun holiday pictures on Instagram while the rakyat is suffering,” he said, in reference to pictures she had posted last month showing the pair in France while the country was reeling from then-record Covid-19 figures.
Puad also pointed to Nazri’s record, saying that he had made conflicting statements regarding the support of MPs towards the prime minister.
“Nazri first claimed that 25 Umno MPs had written letters to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong supporting Hishammuddin Hussein as their spokesman.
“Then, he announced that 40 BN MPs supported the PN.”
Puad also pointed out Nazri’s history with controversial performer Namewee, which proved he was a “liability”.
His examples included the instance when Nazri allowed Namewee to defy the parliamentary dress code and arranged for a RM1 million film grant for the film director during his time as tourism and culture minister.
Jazlan also took Nazri to task, calling him a “flip-flop” with regard to the apparent change in his position towards Muhyiddin and the government.
“He will support anyone, but will also turn into an opponent in the blink of an eye,” he said.
He also warned Muhyiddin to be wary of the newfound support by Nazri.
“If Najib, who as prime minister had taken efforts to show kindness to Nazri and could be insulted by him, how can Muhyiddin stop him from changing his mind and stabbing him in the back?”- FMT
